ABOUT RICHARD RELLA JR
Richard Rella Jr. is an accomplished actor and singer whose career has taken him to stages and screens across the country and beyond, with performances in London, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Dallas, and New York City. He toured nationally with Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding before making his feature film debut in the Touchstone Pictures hit Confessions of a Shopaholic. His screen credits also include We Need to Talk About Kevin opposite Tilda Swinton, the Netflix Original True Memoirs of an International Assassin, and, most recently, Tulsa King, where he performed alongside one of his longtime heroes, Sylvester Stallone.
In addition to his acting career, Richard served as Director of Operations for Yahoo Studios, overseeing major facilities in New York City, Playa Vista, and London. He led a team of more than twenty producers, managers, technicians, editors, and designers, creating video content for marquee programs including Fantasy Football Live, Yahoo Finance Live, and The Royal Beat.
A Liberal Arts professor by the age of twenty-five, Richard holds a BA from Fordham University, an MFA in Acting from Brooklyn College, and an MBA from Mercy University. He also trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and the Manhattan School of Music, studying with celebrated figures such as Austin Pendleton (A Beautiful Mind, My Cousin Vinny), Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Ragtime), Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck), Paul Gemignani (Pal Joey, Assassins), and Rodney Cottier (Shakespeare’s Globe, Royal Opera House).
Richard credits his love of the arts to his late father, whose encouragement sparked a lifelong passion for storytelling. He proudly carries the moniker “Jr.” in his honor. Offstage, Richard’s greatest joy is his family, especially his two daughters, whose support-along with that of his extended family-has been a constant source of inspiration throughout his career.

Tony N’ Tina’s Wedding
“The wedding singer is Richard Rella Jr., playing Donny Dulce, and he is superb, giving renditions of That’s Amore and other classic wedding tunes. He makes the party a party.” –Carol King, Daily Gazette
“Hilarious!” –Joy Tipping, The Dallas Morning News
“Richard Rella Jr. is gelatinous wedding singer Donny Dulce…he leads the “guests” in the dreaded Chicken Dance [and] croons a mean That’s Amore.” –Elaine Liner, The Dallas Observer
Lend Me a Tenor
“We rooted for the bumbling Max as portrayed by Rella in Woody Allen-esque glasses. With his rubber facial expressions and limber lunges, the actor proves a pro at physical comedy. Still, somehow his performance remains delightfully understated.” –Jodi Lee Reifer, Staten Island Advance
“Brianne Berkson as Maggie and Richard Rella as Max lead the cast as the romantic leads. They fill their moments with impeccable comic timing grounded in honest work, which makes them both funny and real. This is no small feat, as honesty can be lost in comedy but these two avoid that trap.” –Nicholas Linnehan, New Theater Corps
Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
“Esther’s headliner crooner is narcissistic Italian stallion Del Delmonaco (Richard Rella Jr.), whose act drips with charm and testosterone. Rella played his character to the hilt, with fine vocals and body language that Elvis would have been proud of.” –David L. Schriber, www.broomeartsmirror.com
“Light, funny and up-tempo, Rella is perfectly smarmy as Del.” –Jeff Genung, The Evening Sun
